The Block Party is a palette knife done with oils. Koi ponds and Florida seem to be a great fit. The koi are so friendly and always on the search for a little snack or maybe just a visit. They seem to live in a perpetual party state. When I would go outside to feed my koi they knew it was me and always seemed overjoyed to seem me. That's why I named my painting The Block Party. I always loved a Block Party!

 Softly swaying, this lone palm caught my attention. Have I ever walked down this pathway  before? The sand is so soft and deep.  It appears I'm the first to travel this path in a while,  there are no prints  before mine. Sunset...the time of day when the ultimate calm sets in and the only way to describe it is utter peacefulness. People marvel at the quickly changing glorious colors, along with the speed of descent. Immediately comes the tremendous applause as the sun slips away. This was my view from the "Cottage By The Sea". Would you like to live here?

Imagine a stroll along the coarse black sand beach of Panalu'u Bay, Hawaii.  Green sea turtles basking in the sun are frequent visitors here.  Endeared and protected by the locals, legend is Kauila protects all children.  In her honor there is an engraving depicting Kauila carrying a sleeping child on her back.  What a magical place.

I found this little pink cottage tucked away next to the water. This, I thought, would be a wonderful place to paint. With it's lovely charm and surroundings it would be a great environment to keep those creative juices flowing. However, its present owners felt the same way I felt...oh well...I'll have to find another little cottage tucked in the woods.
