Peace and Solitude is a pastel done en plein air. Nesting close by the shelter was a sandhill crane with its flashy red head checking me out. She isn't in this pastel, she was just beyond the bird watch. What a lovely thing to watch, she had a home with quite a view!

This particular sunset location always stops me in my tracks. Awe inspiring is the only way to describe the Southwest Florida sunsets. They are each unique and very beautiful. Each one is worthy of a painting. I call this one Lakeside Sunset
At the shoreline everything is so still and quiet at days end.
The only sound is the breaking of the softly rolling waves as they make their
journey up to lap at the sandy beach. Even the birds seem to know it's time to
settle in, have a snack and quietly watch a truly magnificent sunset.
This view from my kitchen window was particularly stunning one evening. The Maine coastline is a glorious place anytime of day. I could hear the squawking seagulls following the boat as the fishermen returned home with their precious cargo. Lobster anyone?

This blue hydrangea was a special gift from a grateful daughter to her mother. It symbolizes heartfelt emotion. The hydrangea was first discovered in Japan and developed during the Victorian Era. Woody stems and lacey star-shaped flowers are packed closely into a pom pom shape. Coming in a rainbow of colors, It truly does possess grace and beauty.
