I've always loved watching the waves roll in and crash against the rocky coast with such tremendous power. Somehow its very soothing to hear the crashing waves meet the land. Rolling thunder brings me back to my youth.

My inspiration for this painting is a tribute to our beloved Affenpinscher, Mia, who took her journey home recently. My painting is of a peaceful, sunny day boating through the islands of palms and mangroves and returning home. Can you feel the serenity?

Growing up in a small coastal state with a large family was always an adventure. We would take family rides, maybe for an ice cream cone, to pick apples or dig quahogs. Often this brought us to the beautiful coastal waters. I always found myself drawn to this particular spot on the bay and I wondered about the house beyond this magnificent stone arched entrance.
