Fota Island Golf Club was done with a palette knife technique. This golf club is a parkland course in County Cork, Ireland, and has extraordinary views everywhere the eye can see. Growing up in a small coastal state with a large family was always an adventure. We would take family rides, maybe for an ice cream cone, to pick apples or dig quahogs. Often this brought us to the beautiful coastal waters. I always found myself drawn to this particular spot on the bay and I wondered about the house beyond this magnificent stone arched entrance. Peace and Solitude is a pastel done en plein air. Nesting close by the shelter was a sandhill crane with its flashy red head checking me out. She isn't in this pastel, she was just beyond the bird watch. What a lovely thing to watch, she had a home with quite a view!
